  • half cup split Bengal gram dal (chana dal)
  • 1/4 cup split black gram dal (urad dal)
  • half cup grated bottle gourd (doodhi)
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • 2 tablespoons chopped spinach
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fenugreek leaves (methi)
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking
  • Wash and soak the rice and lentils (moong dal, chana dal, urad dal) in water for 4-6 hours or overnight. Drain the water and transfer the soaked rice and lentils to a blender.
